BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS PARTICIPANT TESTIMONIALS:

"Maxis,

I want to thank you for everything you taught me during our workshop, you are the best and so are your prices!!" - Jonathan Moreno

"Hi Maxis,

I have been to few others workshops, I can tell you that you are one of the best teachers I ever had. You truly cared about my learning needs and were with me all the time. THANK YOU!!" - Elizabeth Hardfield

"Maxis,

Every technique you showed me made me realized why my approach was not working. Your panning technique works very well! I thank you!" - Marcos Morales

"Your lessons have given me many of the important tools to become a better photographer, now I must put them to use and work hard to produce some quality images. Maxis, I want to thank you for being very good and patient teacher" - John Wilson

"Maxis,

Thank you so much for the long lens panning technique using your tripod tip. This has helped my image sharpness tremendously even when not panning. I was one that would put my hand on top, thank you for pointing out a bad habit that was costing me good shots.

Now I understand why you say to grab the behavioral shots, when I look at mine their are kinda boring. I also see what you mean by a clean background it makes a huge difference. I wrote down a little cheat sheet to help me remember all the great tips you taught me"
- Marjorie Knapp

BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY SEMINARS AND PRIVATE CLASSES TESTIMONIALS:

"Maxis,

Absolutely Amazing! What was supposed to be an indoor seminar at Corkscrew Sanctuary turned into a hands-on, in-the-field workshop. The one-on-one time you spent with me at Estero Lagoon has me "viewing things in a different light". I've talked so much about the experience - how much you showed me in such a short time, and about your work shops that, as you already know, my girlfriend surprised me with the Gatorland Workshop for my birthday. I can't wait to see what experiences/knowledge come out of it. Thanks again for everything and can't wait for Gatorland.

Vinny Abbatiello"

"Hi Maxis,

I've been photographing birds for a few years and developed some odd habits. Maxis gently suggested better techniques for following birds in flight including custom camera settings, wimberley setup, bumping AF, and background windows. He also critiqued images on my laptop and made suggestions for camera settings to improve framing, avoiding silver eye, and post processing for noise and detail. I highly recommend his tutelage

David Caldwell"

"Hello Maxis,

I've had my Sony DSLR for 2 years now and have been trying to improve my skills.  The Estero experience was absolutely awesome for me.  I will always remember your tips on how to shoot in manual and get the most from your camera.  Being able to actually shoot with a group and get your feedback as we worked was a huge help.   I think watching the histogram and the angle of the sun are really going to improve my photos.  I went out and bought a Nikon D90 just recently and a 70-300mm lens.  I know I have so much to learn, but the challenge is part of the experience.

When you get a great photo, it’s all worth it.  I’ll definitely take some inspiration from your website photos. Thanks again for that great day!   It is one experience I won’t forget.

"Hi Maxis,

I would like to let you know how much I appreciated attending the Weedon Island Preserve Seminar, September 12Th in St. Petersburg. Although the severe rainy weather likely kept a number of people from attending The Birds in Flight & Panning Workshop, those who chose not to attend missed a wonderful informative photography program.

As a first-time participant to one of your seminars, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was nice that you started with the basics and continued in a clear, concise way of explaining techniques. Not only was the topic thoroughly covered, but you answered questions during the session and encouraged additional questions at the end. I especially liked the way you answered a question and then return quickly back to where you left off in your lecture.

Your willingness to bring your own camera, lens and accessories and demonstrate how you use them provided a more informative learning style for me. Encouraging us to bring our own equipment gave us a forum to compare some different examples. Beginners or seasoned bird photographers should have come away from this seminar with helpful skills and information. I know I did!

One suggestion for the future would be that everyone leave with something in their hands from the seminar. The CD is a nice review aide and maybe should be considered in the price of the Class.

Sue Sanborn"

"Hi Maxis,

Thanks again for the seminar. It is great to meet someone who is self taught and can pass along the knowledge that you have gained through your time and effort in an easy to understand manner. The important thing you demonstrate is that your methods work as proven by the gorgeous image gallery that you display.

You present the material in such a way that I believe everyone is comfortable regardless of their skill level and you encourage questions without regards to "watching the clock." I believe that I was in the minority shooting Nikon but your familiarity with their equipment and systems allows me to gain even though you use Canon. I look forward to your next workshop!

Best Regards,

Michael A. Decker"
