Alligator Farm
Founded in 1893, the St.. Augustine Alligator Farm is one of Florida’s oldest zoological attractions. For over a century, it has entertained millions of visitors, lured by the awesome presence of captive reptiles, long regarded in the popular imagination as at once mysterious, dangerous and frightening. A true piece of Floridana, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm has inspired popularization of the alligator in the national consciousness and helped to fashion an image for the state.
Why The Rookery?
The main attraction of the Alligator Farm for photographers isn't the gators nor the crocks. The main attraction is the large bird rookery within the facility which provides amazing opportunities for the bird photographer.
The rookery will become our playground for two days. Another good advantage of the rookery is that our subjects will always be there posing for us!
Please Note: THIS WORKSHOP INCLUDES AN ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHER'S PASS WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO ENTER THE PARK ONE HOUR BEFORE THEY OPEN
AND STAY LATE!
What species are we going to photograph?
The rookery offers a large diversity of species including, Great Egrets, Wood Storks, Spoonbills, Tri-colored Herons, Cattle Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Green Herons, White Ibis, Alligators, Crocodiles and more.
What else is going on with this workshop?
Because St. Augustine has so much to offer, each morning we'll gather at key locations to photograph landscapes during the early morning hours. I've been exploring St. Augustine for a few years now and have learned several extraordinary locations to create amazing and powerful landscapes. Please see my gallery below.
And if that's not enough, we'll also spend few hours editing our images using a digital projector. During this Photoshop driven class you will learn step by step how I edit my images.

A full itinerary will be delivered to you upon registration.
