Photographer's Testimonials:

I hope things are still going well for you. I loved this month's Newsletter. The new format is great, and the Curlew photos are tremendous. I see exactly what you mean about being too low in the first photo. The second one is perfect, and the crab was a bonus. The lighting and background were perfect; two of the most important elements in a photo.- John Wilson.

Maxis,

Great newsletter this month.

I have been looking for a faster and cleaner way of viewing a days worth of shooting so I tried your recommendation of the FastStone Viewer today.Really nice viewer, fast, easy to sort and I really like how you can link to external editing software directly.I am looking forward to seeing how it works tomorrow after a full morning of loading up cards at Ft DeSoto.

Your tip on the subtle differences between really technically nice images and images that stand above the others was very helpful, many times I have gotten images that were technically correct with great light, nice backgrounds and decent poses of the bird (only now do I know they were only decent). They were at times lacking just a bit of something to turn them from the typical ID close ups to something more interesting. I went back and reviewed many of my images from DeSoto of the White Morph (Reddish Egret) and from what I thought were a boat load of good images, I used your suggestion to look for the engaging glance if you will and was able to sort it down to really only 5 or 6. That's great news for me with as many images as I take to be able to find these gems of advice that I can use to sort out photos as well as to be looking closer when in the field to get that money shot.

Thanks for the newsletter, it's been very helpful every month. I look forward to the next version! - Steve Leach.
