Greetings friends,

What an amazing summer has been for me. Visited and scouted the one and only Acadia National Park in Maine and now I'm very happy to announce my future workshop there. My experience was terrific visiting remote areas within the park. During this workshop we'll have a chance to not only photograph landscapes but also Atlantic Puffins at Machias Island. This workshop is limited to 5 people only (3 openings available)

Make sure to watch my video and go for a journey everyone should be part of.

I hope everyone is having a great summer as well creating many wonderful images.

Thanks!

How Important is Perspective in Bird Photography?
How Important is Perspective in Bird Photography?

One of the benefits of approaching birds from the water is that they will allow you to get close but it doesn't end there. Selecting the appropriate perspective will help your subject stand out. Take advantage of your efforts approaching the birds from the water and select the appropriate height.

During my workshops, I teach folks what I do in the field to achieve just that. Get the confidence you need and learn to become the bird photographer you've always wanted to be.

Condensation Problems? Sure... How I quickly Fixed it? Read on!

One of my favorites time to photograph all around Florida is during the summer time. Migration is at full motion during the hot months but so is my photography. One of the downsize is of course huminity and condensation.

Last weekend I was photographing a colony of Skimmers early morning. At first light I created few images but only to realize that my Canon 800mm lens had condensation even after I spent at least 45min outside. How could this be possible I asked myself? I soon realized that the huminity jumped sky-high as the sun was rising.

I knew I wasn't going to walk back toward the car and look for something to clean the front element with, so I decided to remove the Better Beamer off my flash (NEVER POINT YOUR BETTER BEAMER TOWARD THE SUN) and allow the sun-rays to hit the front element for few seconds and.....

Bingo! That did the trick!! <smile>. Of course it's always a good idea to carry something to clean your lenses with but just in case you don't have anything handy.... you can use nature to help the issue!
