Yet again the Everglades Nat'l Park didn't disappoint. We were blessed with an amazing weather, plenty of subjects to photograph and a friendly group I could not get enough off. I'm very blessed to be leading these workshops. It's such a pleasure.
During day one, we started way before the sun came up. Everyone was excited and ready to hit the road. Unfortunately, Deborah Sandidge was not able to join us due to a last minute family emergency. However, her positive energy and enthusiasm was with us. I flipped the switch to Plan B and carried a successful classroom seminar. We talked pretty much about everything including software, equipment and techniques. We laughed and enjoyed everyone's experience. Heck, I even talked about studio photography thanks to Bob (Red T-shirt) which loves portraits and studio photography!
On day number two, we were in the field waaaayy before sunrise, hiking and experiencing the true feeling of the Everglades. Yet again we were treated with an amazing day starting with a colorful sunrise. We photographed soon after moved to the birds but not before being treated with some dense fog that made the B&W image you see above. The American Bittern was also a great find. Not my style but if you know anything about that specie you should know they never out in the open. However, I managed a clear opening creating a very interesting behavior series.
Overall, the Everglades Nat'l Park Workshop #1 was a total blast. I would like to thank participants for their great spirit and participation. It's now time to get ready for workshop #2 next weekend!
I hope you can attend in 2013!
Thanks!
